Yesterday night my 60GB Kingston V300 series SSD problem where the PC not able to boot Windows 7, after BIOS post screen, monitor is dark screen with cursor blinking. I’ve tried to fix the boot record but not successful. This is the 1st time the drive problem after few years of using. Finally I boot my PC with xubuntu live cd and copy the data out from the SSD drive before proceed to reformat the SSD drive and reinstall Windows 7.
To check the SSD drive, we can install Kingston SSD Manager.
Once run the Kingston SSD Manager, we will have below screen to show us the drive information.
Once detected with newer firmware, we can just click the “Update Firmware” button. *Pls backup important data first
Just few seconds and the firmware update process is done.
Hopefully after this firmware update, the drive will not have issue again.

Currently this tool only available for Windows OS only.
